[NEWS]K&P Energy-Self-Sufficient Infrastructure

2025.07.11

K&P attended the final results forum of the “Energy Self-Sufficiency Infrastructure Construction and Operation Project” held on July 11 at Gumoosan Hotel in Gumi.

Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Energy Agency, Gumi City, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX), the event showcased outcomes from a three-year initiative aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and energy independence within the Gumi National Industrial Complex.

With a total investment of KRW 35.3 billion, the project established Korea’s first grid-connected microgrid (MG), integrating distributed energy resources such as rooftop solar PV systems, energy storage systems (ESS), electric vehicle chargers, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology—contributing to optimized energy use across the complex.

As part of the initiative, K&P installed a rooftop self-consumption solar power system, reducing energy costs and supporting the foundation for RE100 implementation.

The event confirmed tangible energy and cost savings for participating companies including K&P and highlighted the region’s growing potential as a self-sufficient, smart industrial complex.

K&P remains committed to sustainable energy solutions and will continue to contribute to eco-friendly transitions, enhanced industrial competitiveness, and regional carbon neutrality.
